Misty May-Treanor says that the picture that allegedly shows her nude is fake.
Treanor, 37, one of the most famous volleyball players in history, says that the picture is “clearly photoshopped.”
A representative for Treanor, who earned her accolades by winning multiple gold medals with Kerri Walsh, told TMZ: “I reviewed the image with Misty and it is clear that it is a bad photoshop job.”
But users on Reddit are arguing that it is in fact real.
“Except its clearly real. its such a lame pic, no one would bother shopping that to be her,” said one.
“She’s flat out lying. Everything matches perfectly, hair, back moles, tattoos, even the tan line from her uniform,” said another.
The picture is one of dozens that have been leaked in the past couple days, in the second wave of the so-called “Fappening” hack.
Many of the women targeted by the hack are actresses or models, but there are other sports stars allegedly involved. Multiple pictures of U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo began circulating on Friday.
It’s unclear how the hackers targeted specific women or why they started releasing more pictures after things had died down following the first wave, which included pictures of Kate Upton and Jennifer Lawrence.
