Miss Tennessee 2014 Hayley Lewis is one of the top 10 for women seeking to become Miss America 2015 on Sunday night.
Lewis, 21, hails from Nashville.
She graduated from Truman High School before attending Belmont University, where she is currently a senior majoring in Music Business with a minor in Classical Voice Performance.
Lewis would like to graduate cum laude with a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Marketing from Belmont University, according to her Miss America bio.
She would then like to serve as the executive director for a non profit organization.
Her talent is vocal and her platform issue is Children’s Miracle Network: Real Miracles for Real Kids Like Me.
The national philanthropy of the Miss America Organization paid for her care when she suffered a severely broken arm while attempting to do a back handspring when she was four years old. It greatly helped because Hayley’s family was already coping with the expense of cancer treatment of her father.
Lewis said in an interview posted on Miss America’s website that she didn’t consider pageantry at first but she has come to appreciate it.
“These women are distinguished, well-rounded, and beautiful,” she said. “I was on stage with lawyers and people going to medical school.”
