Destiny Velez has been suspended indefinitely from her role as Miss Puerto Rico 2015 due to comments she made slamming Muslims.

The 20-year-old fired off a series of tweets to filmmaker Michael Moore after Moore posted a picture of himself outside Trump Tower in New York City holding a sign reading, “We are all Muslim.”

Moore’s action was in response to the proposal from Republican frontrunner Donald Trump to ban Muslims from entering the U.S.

Velez proceeded to tweet at Moore a picture of herself holding a sign that read “We are all believers in Christ,” saying: “Why are u defending Muslims that haven’t done nothing for the USA?”

“All what Muslims have done is provided oil & terrorize this country & many others!!!!” she added.

“There’s NO comparison between Jews, Christians & Muslims. Jews nor Christians have terrorizing agendas in their sacred books.”

Other tweets included: “Muslims use our constitution to terrorize USA & plant gas stations” and “All they do is build their mosques, feel offended by American values and terrorize innocent Americans and plant gas stations and get guns and kills innocent ppl and destroy precious artifacts.”

In another tweet, Velez tweeted at Trump and expressed her support for him.

The Miss Puerto Rico organization later responded, saying in a statement that Velez has been suspended indefinitely.

“In regards to Miss Puerto Rico, Destiny Velez’s, recent actions and conduct; the Miss Puerto Rico Organization feels that her words do not represent the integrity and esteem of our program, nor that of our board members, our sponsors and partners, or the National Organization,” it said in the statement posted to its official Facebook page. “Miss Velez’s actions were in contradiction to the organization, and therefore as a consequence of her actions, she has been suspended indefinitely. The Miss Puerto Rico Organization will not tolerate any actions or behavior contrary to the Miss Puerto Rico Organization.”

Velez deleted her Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and Instagram and issued an apology.

“I apologize to the people I have offended with my words. I am first and foremost an #UpStander and as such I stand up against bullying,” she said.

“The last thing I wanted to do was to bully anyone. Again, I apologize to anyone who felt offended with my words.”
