Miley Cyrus has been tapped to star in the action-comedy So Undercover, playing the lead role of a private investigator hired by the FBI to go undercover in a college sorority, Deadline.com reports.
The 17-year-old Hannah Montana star, who becomes a legal adult later this month, landed her newest role since shooting for the comedy LOL: Laughing Out Loud, a remake of the French film LOL, to be released in 2011.
So Undercover will be directed by What Happens in Vegas director Tom Vaughan, with a script written by Allan Loeb (Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps) and Steven Pearl (The Beast, New Amsterdam).
Cyrus, who has garnered controversy recently over racy and sexually revealing music videos, has transformed her image away from innocent and childish Disney character Hannah Montana.
So Undercover will begin production next month. There is no word on who will play other roles in the film, or when the film’s release date will be.
