Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, known as Meryl and Maks, won season 18 of Dancing with the Stars on May 20.
The tight finale left Amy Purdy and Derek Hough as runners up.
Candace Cameron Bure and her partner Mark Ballas came in third.
The two-hour had an opening number that featured all 12 couples who competed this season. Fans were especially watching the last dance of Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who are rumored to be a real-life couple after getting to know each other following being paired for the show.
Davis also danced with her Olympian figure skating partner Charlie White.
Fans for the most part enjoyed the finale, which also featured performances by the likes of Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande.
“Oh man this is the most emotional finale of #DWTS ever! Love @MaksimC and @Meryl_Davis so much!!” said one.
“So proud of @candacecbure and Mark! Third place is still amazing. Way to go, Candace! You have been so much fun to watch!” said another.
The popular ABC show has already been renewed for a season 19.
An official premiere date hasn’t been announced as of yet but it will likely premiere sometime in late September, based on previous premiere dates.
