A bomb threat prompted the evacuation of the Collin County Courthouse in McKinney on Wednesday morning, it was reported.

The Dallas News reported that the courthouse was evacuated at around 9:30 a.m. local time.

Lt. John Norton, a spokesman for the Collin County Sheriff’s Office, told the News that police notified them.

“They notified us, and Homeland Security, which is over the courthouse, made the decision to evacuate, which we’re doing at this time,” he said.

Officials told NBC DFW that judges were told to abandon their docket and leave the building.
