The McCaughey septuplets turned 16 on Tuesday.

The set of 7 siblings--Kenny, Kelsey, Natalie, Brandon, Alexis, Nathan and Joel--are the first to survive this long, reported the Des Moines Register.

The kids became famous after being born in 1997. However, after several years they disappeared from public view.

The family still lives in the same home, and the parents, Bobbi and Kenny, are sad to see their kids growing so fast.

“It’s not like we want them all gone,” Bobbi said. “It’s sad how quickly it’s gone.”

The kids won’t be getting driving lessons until they get a job, Kenny told the kids.

They do have an older sister, Mikayla, 18, who is a student at the Des Moines Area Community College.

Having seven kids grow into teenagers is expensive, making budgeting a must.

“The biggest challenge is making sure they keep up with certain things but not keep up with certain things, trendy things,” Kenny said. “Three of them have cellphones and a couple have iPads. But even I’m on a pay-as-you-go phone plan.”
