The cause of death is currently unknown, but there is speculation he had pneumonia.

Sease had been an artist for around 40 years, and was a “staple” for traveling artists performing at various blues festivals, according to American Blues News.

His album Marvin Sease, featuring the famous track “Ghetto Man,” got him high hits on Billboard’s music charts, according to examiner.com, but he is most well known for his song “Candy Licker.”

Sease was scheduled for several events later this month, including headline acts at the Greensboro Blues Festival and Cincinnati Blues Festival.
