Selection Sunday for March Madness is here--it’s today, March 16.
Fans across the United States will be watching to see if their team makes it into the NCAA tournament, and who their team will face in the first round.
The first games will be played on March 18.
The selection will be aired live on CBS starting at 6 p.m. ET.
Coverage begins at 4 p.m. and will continue through 8 p.m.
Live streaming is available on CBSSports.com.
Along with fans, teams are going to be watching closely to see who they'll face.
The Creighton Bluejays are one of them, after coming up short in the Big East championship game to Providence.
Doug McDermott said that the Bluejays will celebrate when they find out where they’re headed in the NCAA tournament.
“I joke with my boss, who’s on the committee, that all I want is a good seed against a bad team in warm weather,” he said, drawing laughs. “I didn’t think that’s too much to ask.
“Once our name’s called, it’s time to get to work. We need to use maybe some of the problems we had today as motivation to make sure we’re a better team on Thursday or Friday than we are today. I’m confident this group will do that.”
A number of teams are holding viewing parties where fans and players will gather to watch Selection Sunday together, such as North Dakota State at the Bison Sports Arena. School officials expect thousands of fans to show up.
The eight host cities for the NCAA tournament are Buffalo, N.Y.; Milwaukee, Wis.; Orlando, Fla.; Spokane, Wash.; Raleigh, N.C.; San Antonio, Texas; San Diego, Calif.; and St. Louis, Mo.
