Guinea pigs are the best conversationalists in the animal kingdom. That’s the conclusion I’ve come to after viewing some videos in the “Talking Animals” series by the campaign Pets Add Life (PAL).
The series was honored for the Best Online Film & Video in the 18th Annual Webby Awards in May. Fewer than 15 percent of the approximately 12,000 entries receive this honor.
A man asks his guinea pig about what the guinea pig does to fill his days, what some of his favorite things are, and what it’s like to be an “only pet.” Imagine what your pet would say to you if he could talk. A hopping-mad dog complains and calls down his owner after a bath. Another dog pleadingly asks his owner to get a cat.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious recognition,” said Bob Vetere, President and CEO of the American Pet Products Association (APPA), according to a PAL press release. “The ultimate goal of our videos is to promote multiple pet ownership and we are beyond thrilled to see what a huge success they have become. Stay tuned as more are underway!”
PAL is a nonprofit campaign dedicated to highlighting the benefits of pet-owner bonds, encouraging animal adoption, and promoting responsible pet ownership. You can see more PAL videos on the organization’s YouTube page.
