The China Earthquake Networks Center reported that a 5.2-magnitude earthquake hit Nangqen County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province at 3:48 p.m. on June 26. The epicenter was at Zhaoxian Village, 64 km (40 miles) away from Xiangda Township, Nangqen County.
Wen Guodong, deputy secretary of Yushu Prefecture, told the reporter that so far no reports had been received of property loss and casualties from the earthquake.
Zhiming Longzhu, deputy magistrate for Nangqen County, told the reporter that while vibrations from the earthquake were acutely felt, there were no reports of collapsed houses around the county government building.
