A Lowe’s in New York state is under investigation by a local sheriff’s office and health department over social distancing violations.
The Lowe’s location in Big Flats was shut down due to “continual violations of Executive Order(s) issued by New York State Governor pertaining to social distancing,” local officials said,
according to WENY. Reporters with the station said that Chemung County Sheriff’s deputies were asking people to leave the store on Sunday afternoon.
Chemung County Executive Chris Moss, in confirming the move,
said in a news release that the County health department requested that Lowe’s submit a plan on how to enforce social distancing measures after it received verbal and written warnings.
“Essential businesses have a responsibility to make sure their customers and employees are kept as safe as possible from contracting and or spreading the Coronavirus,” Moss said, referring to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus.
Moss said he sought to “make it clear” he isn’t pursuing an agenda to shut down, fine, or “possibly arrest” business purveyors.
“Businesses who have been allowed to remain open, as they are designated as ‘essential’ must follow the guidelines set forth by the state,” he added.
No charges have yet been filed in the incident, local news outlet MyTwinTiers
reported.
The Epoch Times refers to the novel coronavirus, which causes the disease COVID-19, as the
CCP virus because the Chinese Communist Party’s coverup and mismanagement allowed the virus to spread throughout China before it was transmitted worldwide.
Big Flats, located about 130 miles southeast of Buffalo, is a city in western New York near the Pennsylvania border.
