Lisa Ling, the American journalist best known for co-hosting ABC’s The View from 1999 to 2002, is launching her own show on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).

In Our American with Lisa Ling, Ling brings viewers on an in-depth journey to explore some of the “most controversial and thought-provoking” issues the nation faces today, according to OWN’s website.

In the season premiere, set to air at 10 p.m. EST (7 p.m. PST) on Tuesday, Feb. 15, Ling attends the Healing Signs and Wonders Conference, where she meets hundreds of Americans with various illnesses who have come to the conference hoping to be healed by a preacher named Todd Bentley.

Ling follows the story of one of them, wheelchair-bound Steve, who shares his story of survival and faith.

Throughout the season, Ling, 37, will focus on many issues existing in present-day America, including religious movements, drug addition, sex offenders, and online brides.

As a field correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show and contributor to ABC’s Nightline and National Geographic’s Explorer, Ling has covered under-reported stories from numerous countries such as bride burning in India and the Lord’s Resistance Army in Uganda, according to OWN.

Ling’s younger sister, Laura Ling, gained nationwide attention in 2009 when former President Bill Clinton brought Euna Lee and her back from North Korea after the two journalists were detailed in the communist country for five months.
