The Legend of Korra Book 3, called “Change,” is currently in the works--though there’s no release date yet--with creators giving updates about what we can expect.
Let’s check out everything we know so far about Book 3.
-Korra is the focus
“It’s all about Korra dealing with the change of the world in this point in time,” co-creator Michael DiMartino told the Wall Street Journal. “At the end of Book 2 she says it’s a new era. And it really is and we’re going to show how Harmonic Convergence and her battle with Unalaq and Vaatu kind of shifted the world a bit.”
-Lin Beifong is going to be featured “a lot more” than in Book 2, co-creator Bryan Konietzko said on his blog, sharing the screenshot below of her.
-It’s set soon after the end of Book 2
Dimartino said that Book 3 will pick up just a few weeks after Book 2 ends.
-Book 3 and Book 4 are almost done
There’s 52 episodes planned between the books, Konietzko told WSJ. “When all is said and done it will have taken I think about five years to make. Much like when ‘Avatar’ ended, Mike and I need to just recharge the batteries and work on a couple of other things,” he said. “We definitely don’t have another series planned, but I think this universe that we cracked open 11 years ago, I think it will always draw us back in, throughout the years, and I think it’s still an inspiring place for us to create and we have various other ideas, but we’re really busy just trying to get these episodes done and we’re not actively trying to figure out the next step in this world yet.
