BuzzFeed dug up a song on April 22 Prince wrote in 1990 about Donald Trump—a “black” version of Donald Trump.
The find came a day after the untimely death of the multi-talented provocateur.
The song, however, was not performed by Prince, but by an R&B/funk group who were known as The Time.
Check out the chorus below:
Donald Trump (black version), maybe that’s what you need.
A man that fulfills your every wish, your every dream.
Donald Trump (black version), come on take a chance.
A 1990’s love affair, the real romance.
In an autobiography titled, “Prince: The Man and His Music,” released in 2012, and written by Prince’s biographer Matt Thorne, it says:
Prince is responsible for a third of the record including another Corporate World standout—‘Donald Trump (Black Version)’, which continues the theme of a black rewrite of Wall Street—and four tracks with rich histories.
According to the Washington Post, the album was not released on “Corporate World.” Instead it was released on their 1990 album, “Pandemonium.”
