Kristen Merlin was one of the first eight contestants on “The Voice” season 6, performing “Something More.”
That’s a Sugarland hit--Merlin discussed on the show how she won a chance to sing on stage with their band.
Both Adam Levin and Shakira swung around in the blind audition. Merlin appreciated Shakira’s large social media following, while Levine praised the singer for her artistic instincts.
Shakira tells the singer that she will get Miranda Lambert (Blake Shelton’s wife) to coach her if she joins Team Shakira. Merlin is eventually won over and joins the team.
