Indiana Pacers v New York Knicks

The New York Knicks have agreed to re-sign sharpshooter Steve Novak to a four-year deal worth $15 million, according to a report on the NBA’s website.

No free agent deals can actually be signed until Wednesday.

Novak, a six-year pro, had his best season in 2011–12 with the Knicks, averaging a career-high 8.8 points per game in nearly 19 minutes a contest. He led the league in three-point shooting percentage at 47.2, hitting 133 out of 282 shots from behind the arc.

The presence of Novak on the perimeter this past season for the Knicks kept defenses honest as he routinely punished any teams that played a collapsing defense.

The Knicks are the fifth different team for the 6-foot, 10-inch Novak who was a second-round pick by Houston in 2006.
