Carmelo Anthony put up 33 points in New York’s (6-7) 102–93 home loss Monday to Orlando (9-3).
The Knicks star who missed Saturday’s contest at Oklahoma City with an injured ankle appeared to have tweaked the ankle toward the end of Monday’s game, but played through.
Anthony, who was 9/27 from the field, hit 14 of 16 foul shots for the game as the Knicks shot a stellar 85 percent (28/33) from the charity stripe as a team, but they couldn’t overcome a bad fourth quarter.
Leading 75–73 after three quarters New York was outscored 29–18 in the final 12 minutes of the contest to secure their third straight loss.
Orlando forward Ryan Anderson led the Magic with 30 points and hit seven 3-pointers along the way.
The Knicks next game is Wednesday against Phoenix.
