Kim Jong Un ‘Grease’ photos: British tabloid The Sun published photos of who is claims is North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un at his boarding school in Switzerland.
One of the photos appears to show him in a production of “Grease,” the musical about U.S. high school students that was made famous by the 1978 John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John film of the same name.
“Everyone now looks at him as a lunatic who hates the world but the kid I remember was the quietest person I have ever met,” former classmate Tai Rapp told the paper.
The photos also showed Kim, who stayed at the school in Switzerland from 1994 to 1997, in swimming shorts and also said he “sang along to hits like ‘Summer Nights,’” the Sun said.
However, the Washington Post pointed out that the photos might be of his brother. The Post said that the 1994 to 1997 dates published by the Sun were the wrong ones for him to be in Switzerland.
The Post reported earlier that Kim was in Switzerland between 1998 and 2000 when he was 15 to 17 years old. Classmates said that he lived in his own apartment and played basketball a lot.
The Sun also said that he attended the International School of Berne, but the Post notes that he likely stayed at the Liebefeld-Steinhölzli Schule in Bern.
“There’s a significant possibility that, assuming those photos are not just of some innocent Korean child, they actually show Kim’s older brother, Kim Jong Chol,” wrote the Post, adding that both Kims went to different Swiss boarding schools.
