Kidnap victim shuns family? Michelle Knight, one of the three victims of a decade-long kidnapping and imprisonment situation in Cleveland, is reportedly not seeing any of her family members other than one brother.

Barbara Knight, Michelle’s mother, told WKYC-TV that she hasn’t been allowed to see Michelle since Michelle and the two other imprisoned women were freed on May 6.

Barbara Knight has retained a lawyer to try to get access to her daughter.

Michelle was released from the hospital on May 10.

“Michelle Knight is in good spirits and would like the community to know that she is extremely grateful for the outpouring of flowers and gifts,” reads a statement that the MetroHealth Medical Center put out on Knight’s behalf. “She is especially thankful for the Cleveland Courage Fund. She asks that everyone please continue to respect her privacy at this time.”

Unlike the other two victims, details about Knight have been hard to pin down, and no photos of her have been released to the media.

Knight was not considered a missing person because the FBI removed her name from the missing person database 15 months after she was first reported missing.

Barbara Knight continued posting fliers in the neighborhood Michelle disappeared in, even when she moved to Florida, for years.
