For the 44th Annual CMA Awards ceremony, to be aired on ABC, the singers will perform their duet “Don’t You Want to Stay,” Entertainment Weekly reported.
In a phone interview with Entertainment Weekly, Aldean shared his first impressions of his fellow singer: “She wasn’t a pop star who was there to handle her business and leave,” he said. “She was very cool, very personable, and very grateful that we had thought of her to do the song.”
Last week, Clarkson appeared on TV singing the National Anthem before game three of the World Series Baseball game between the Texas Rangers and the San Francisco Giants.
The 28-year-old first rose to fame when she won the first season of American Idol in 2002, and has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.
She released her fourth album, “All I ever wanted,” in 2009. Aldean’s fourth album, ”My Kinda Party,” is being released today, Nov. 2.
Other stars set to appear at the awards ceremony include Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, and Sugarland, giving it a decidedly country feel.
Another Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, will also feature as co-host with Brad Paisley.
