Rumors about Kate Middleton being pregnant started flying after a well-wisher in New Zealand revealed a comment from Prince William.
Cynthia Read presented the prince with a merino wool shawl for his and Kate’s eight-month-old baby, Prince George.
Read told reporters that after she gave the shawl, the prince thanked her and added, “You might have to make another one soon!”
“The way William said it, it was like he was dropping a hint, letting me in on a secret,” Read said.
However, Middleton appeared to shoot down the rumors after enjoying some wine at an engagement at Amisfield Vineyard in New Zealand.
She drained at least one glass while with another, she took a sip before handing it to a private security person and telling him to enjoy it.
“The Duchess did take a little sip, but I don’t think she’s a big drinker,” vineyard owner John Darby said. Pictures from the tour showed Kate finishing off a different one.
She told wine-makers that she was “really enjoying being able to drink again after having baby George.”
Hannah Armstrong from Mudhouse Wines said Middleton expressed appreciation for wine.
“Kate said she hadn’t drunk whilst pregnant with George and although she doesn’t drink much she was really enjoying the odd glass.”
A source added to Us Weekly: “Kate is not pregnant. They want a bigger family in the future, but she’s not pregnant right now.”
