Juan Mendez-DePaz, a cowboy hat-wearing man, threatened a McDonald’s drive thru employee in Long Island, N.Y., that he would shoot them if they failed to hand over hamburgers and cash.
New York State police told the Long Island Express that Mendez-DePaz, of Flanders, was arrested in the parking lot. He was charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
He told the employee that he was armed and reached into his vest on Sunday night.
Mendez-DePaz apparently walked up to the window just after midnight, reported Patch.com.
The worker then shut the window and called the police. Officials located the man, who was wearing a black cowboy hat and vest, in the parking lot.
Mendez-DePaz allegedly showed the worker a large knife that was on his hip and got involved in a brief scuffle with arresting officers before he was detained.
Police said that he wasn’t armed with any firearms.
