Jon Jones defended his light heavyweight championship belt against Alexander Gustafsson during UFC 165 on Saturday night, but he appeared to limp out of the octagon with an unknown injury.

Brett Okamoto with ESPN reported that Jones was on a stretcher after the bout.

“Jones was loaded into a stretcher and is presumably being taken to the hospital. Far worse shape than Alex, who conducted a few interviews,” he wrote.

Fansided.com reported that Gustafsson was also taken to the hospital. The website also reported that Jones suffered a foot injury early in the fight.

In his last fight with Chael Sonnen, Jones suffered a toe injury and was forced into rehabilitation.

Jones won the fight against Gustafsson via a close unanimous decision. “49-46, 48-47 and 48-47 and @JonnyBones Jones keeps his belt after @AlexTheMauler gives him the Fight of the Year #UFC165,” the UFC tweeted.

“I don’t care if you like him or don’t like him, you gotta respect him,” UFC President Dana White said at a post-fight conference.
