The daughter of Johnny Depp, Lily-Rose Depp, has defended her father amid allegations that he abused his wife, Amber Heard.
“My dad is the sweetest most loving person I know,” model and actress Lily-Rose said on Instagram over Memorial Day weekend. “He’s been nothing but a wonderful father to my little brother and I, and everyone who knows him would say the same.”
Lily-Rose---the 17-year-old daughter of Depp and French singer-actress Vanessa Paradis---also included a photo of her and her father from when she was a child.
It comes days after Heard, 30, accused Depp, 52, of throwing his iPhone at her face, leaving bruises her right eye. TMZ published a photo of her face on Friday, and after she left a courtroom Friday, apparent facial bruises were visible.
Lily-Rose posted another Instagram post, which wasn’t captioned. The photo appears to have been a screenshot of a People magazine report saying the Los Angeles Police Department investigated Heard’s domestic abuse claim against Depp on May 21, but they found no proof of a crime. It also includes quotes from an LAPD spokesman.
Heard and Depp have been married for 15 months. Days before the abuse allegations, Heard filed for divorce from Depp.
In a complaint filed with a Los Angeles court, Heard alleged, “During the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive to me.”
“Johnny has had a long-held and widely-acknowledged public and private history of drug and alcohol abuse,” she added. “He has a short fuse.”
Depp filed a memorandum with the court, saying he rejected her claims of domestic violence.
“Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse,” the memorandum read.
