A female jogger was sexually assaulted while jogging in Central Park on Monday night, according to a report.

Police sources told the New York Post that a 27-year-old woman, whose identity has not been revealed, was running near East 104th Street at East Drive in the Manhattan park when a man grabbed her and dragged her into nearby bushes. The incident unfolded at around 9:40 p.m. local time. However, PIX11 reported that she was attacked while jogging near Lenox Avenue and 110th Street at around 10:30 p.m.

The woman was punched and kicked by her assailant. After she fell to the ground, he then tried to sexually assault her, police told the newspaper. The man eventually gave up and ran away with her phone. Investigators traced the phone to the Bronx before it was shut off.

The PIX11 report said the attacker pulled her shirt over her head and punched and kicked her in the head.

She was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital for medical treatment.

The suspect was described as a black male with a “scruffy beard” and was last seen wearing a black jacket and an orange shirt, according to the reports.

The assault comes hours after another robbery in Central Park in Monday. A 47-year-old Manhattan man was knocked off a Citi Bike and was robbed of his iPhone 7.

The victim, Jacob Angstreich, was riding along East Drive near E. 95th St. when around six teenagers stopped him after midnight, police told the New York Daily News. One of the teens told him to get off his bike and then punched him in the face before taking his phone and the teens fled.
