U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann will have a rematch with Jim Graves in 2014, according to an announcement on April 11.
Graves lost to Bachmann in one of the closest U.S. House races, by about 4,300 votes, in Minnesota’s 6th District.
“Jim knows that everybody heard his message last time about his business experience and the need for serious change,” Aaron Wells, Graves’ campaign manager, told the St. Cloud Times. “He’s feeling such an outpouring of support.”
“These days Congress is all about and scoring political points rather than actually solving problems and Minnesota’s 6th District — my home — is losing out because of that more than anywhere,” Graves said in the release. “I’m not interested in celebrity, only in solutions.”
Graves is a hotel executive.
Bachmann, who is in her fourth term, responded through a fundraising email, saying Graves announced his plans “after receiving his marching orders from the Pelosi-Obama campaign machine.”
Bachmann is also well-known for a failed presidential bid.
