NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon is selling his apartment, which overlooks Manhattan’s Central Park. for $30 million.
The New York Times reported that Gordon paid $9.67 million for the apartment in 2007 before he and his wife customized it.
Nora Ariffin and Christopher Kromer are the brokers and represented Gordon when he initially bought the unit. Ariffin told the paper that Gordon is selling he apartment because “the demand for trophy apartments is pretty strong.”
In the apartment, Gordon installed Brazilian cherry wood floors, heavy wooden doors, an oak bar, and according to real estate firm Halstead, he put in a “fully-integrated Crestron system that controls all lighting, window shades and audio/visual components,” said the Huffington Post.
In 2010, Gordon told USA Today that in his building, it is “the only place in New York I get recognized.”
Gordon, a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, primarily lives in Charlotte, N.C.
