Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy got 40 out of 40 with their “West Side Story” dance on September 29 on Dancing With the Stars.
The Jazz dance to “America” stunned the judges.
“What just happened! I felt like I was watching a full-on Broadway show,” said Julianne Hough.
“This is your star-making turn,” added Bruno Tonioli to Janel. “Bravo, bravo!”
Carrie Ann Inaba complimented the dance, saying that it was “insane” and noting how her jaw dropped during it.
Guest judge Kevin Hart also complimented the duo, saying that the dance was amazing, and that they told the story well.
Val complimented Janel afterward on her performance.
The duo received a perfect 40 out of 40 for the first perfect score of the season.
“I’m so happy!” Janel said, crying a bit.
Bethany Mota and Derek Hough later also received a perfect score, for their Jazz to “Singing in the Rain” from Singing in the Rain.
