Bian Hexian told The Epoch Times that both Councilman John Liu (Queens) and Assemblywoman Ellen Young (New York State) are not qualified to be elected representatives because they violated the will of the U.S. people.
John Liu has been criticized by Falun Gong practitioners for openly providing support to the pro-communist mobs who attacked them as they manned their “Quit the CCP booth” in Flushing in recent months.
Some of these thugs were arrested and some have had their photos printed in The Epoch Times.
On July 2, after Falun Gong practitioners protested outside his office, Liu finally met with practitioners and some local representatives.
During the meeting, Bian questioned whether Liu knew of Resolution 188 passed by the House of Representatives on July 24, 2002. The resolution called for the end of the persecution of Falun Gong in China and urged the U.S. government to investigate illegal activities by the Chinese communist regime, including harassment of U.S. citizens and residents who practice Falun Gong.
The Bill was passed unanimously by Congress.
“The Bill represents the will of the people of the United States. That is, Liu and Young’s attitude toward Falun Gong has violated the will of the people of the United States,” said Bian.
“When I questioned Liu he said he was not aware of Resolution 188. I then asked how he could be a councilman and be unaware of a Congress resolution? If the two politicians are not even aware of the basic political principles, how can they be elected representatives?” said Bian.
Bian also criticized Liu for refusing to acknowledge the attacks on Falun Gong practitioners in Flushing as a hate crime.
“I obtained two documents from Liu’s office in which Liu educates others on what constitutes a hate crime. He said hate crime is using language or actions to attack a group of religious believers or certain races because of prejudice.”
Bian pointed out that what the pro-communist mobs did in attacking Falun Gong practitioners fits this definition.
“This is the reason we want to urge the FBI and related departments to investigate Liu,” he said.
Bian said that during the meeting on July 2, Liu became very agitated and rude when Bian questioned him, and pressed for Bian’s name and address. After giving his name and address, Bian warned Liu not to betray the United States’ interest because of his association with the Chinese regime.
Bian said both politicians are confused about right and wrong and lack “political common sense.”
“Both Liu and Young said that Falun Gong practitioners have disturbed the peace in the district by distributing pamphlets. Falun Gong practitioners have been distributing pamphlets for four years, how is that they have never raised this issue until now? Why is it when the Chinese regime instigated thugs to attack Falun Gong practitioners that they started to say Falun Gong practitioners disturbed the peace?”
As to the next step, Bian said he is going to launch a petition and also request an investigation into Liu’s fund-raising efforts.
“I want to check out if it is legal,” he said.
“This is not China under the control of the communist regime, it is not a place that you can do whatever you want to do. They are able to control certain Chinese through the regime, but not all Chinese.”
