Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler let an infield pop-up by Tyler White of the Astros fall to the ground with Colby Rasmus on first and no outs in the bottom of the fifth inning before throwing the ball to second for the force out. The play allowed Detroit to have a slower baserunner on first base.

The play was ruled a fielder’s choice—as opposed to an error—and so the slower White took first base. Of course, the quick-thinking Kinsler meant to miss the fly ball for that very reason.
