How to Use Radiant Orchid, As Seen On The Couch!

Spring has finally sprung! So what better time to start incorporating Radiant Orchid, the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year, into your decor?

This morning I joined hosts Carolina Bermudez and John Elliott on The Couch on CBS, where I discussed the different ways to use this bold, bright color in your home. It turns out that it’s surprisingly versatile, and can be paired with neutral colors like gray and taupe, and also other bright colors, too!

Radiant Orchid is particularly gorgeous when paired with a bright mustard yellow (as seen on the storage bench). The rich purple contrasts beautifully with the cheery, sunny yellow, and the result is a harmonious pairing of two brights! Try

Gray and taupe are also fabulous colors to pair with Radiant Orchid. The muted tones of these classic neutrals really play up the brightness of the purple. Because gray and taupe happen to be very popular and common furniture colors, a great way to start is by incorporating Radiant Orchid throw pillows, like the ones seen above. You can even add a pop of color to neutral decor by adding an actual faux orchid! The flower itself is gorgeous and makes a great addition to any room.
