Kristin Russell is a captain in the Air Force.
But before that, she was a pretty normal girl growing up.
She remembers a lot of good memories involving her stepdad Dave.
“My stepdad is awesome. He coached every softball team I was on and came to every karate tournament,” she said via YouTube.
Other memories include him reading to her and playing with Barbies together.
But Russell also remembers that Dave once owned and cherished a 1973 Porsche 914.
He was slowly restoring it to its original condition—but instead of finishing the project, he sold the car and used the money to pay for the wedding to Kristin’s mom.
So Russell spent two years of her deployment saving money and working to find the Porsche.
Then she traveled back home to unveil the big surprise...
