The contentious entertainer David Hasselhoff is reportedly returning to his soap opera roots and reprising his role as Dr. William “Snapper” Foster, Jr. on the longtime soap “The Young and the Restless” for a limited number of episodes.

The star will join the set in May to tape shows that will begin airing in June.

“The Hoff” is also getting a reality TV. series on A&E that will hit some time in 2010, focusing on his professional as well as personal life.
