MIAMI—Red Sox outfielder Hanley Ramírez will be examined by a doctor Thursday when the team returns to Boston to determine whether further tests are needed on his sore left foot.

Ramírez was not available Wednesday against the Miami Marlins. It was the fourth consecutive game he had missed since fouling a ball off his foot. Earlier X-rays were negative.

Red Sox manager John Farrell was back in the dugout Wednesday and said he felt much better after missing Tuesday’s game while recovering from hernia surgery.
