In an April 5 interview with the New York Times, Gwyneth Paltrow spoke of bees and its skincare benefits. This time, in an interview with Self Magazine, Paltrow discusses two other B’s: business and balance.
Paltrow’s life website, Goop, shares all things health and beauty and it’s a company Paltrow is immensely passionate about.
“I love doing this,” she said in Self’s May 2016 issue. “It’s using different muscles, which I really enjoy.”
The Oscar-winning actress is heavily involved in all aspects of her company, making sure it remains “authentic and true to who we are.”
“I’m responsible for every photo, every piece of content, all the product that we’re making,” she explained. “I do all the creative. But I’m also involved in the business side and the strategy. It’s challenging!”
What has been quite challenging for the 43-year-old actress is taking a breather, particularly when she needs one.
“I have yet to meet someone who isn’t burdened with hyper-responsibility. Everyone is suffering from this sense of ‘I have to do it all and I have to do it perfectly,’” she says. “It’s all my friends, all my colleagues: We try to do everything to such a high standard. And I’m like, Where did we get this from? Because I’m [expletive] exhausted!”
However, finding time to relax when it comes to spending time with her children, 11-year-old Apple and 10-year-old Moses is fairly easy. Paltrow, working in an industry that is packed and fast-paced has led to an appreciation of the small things.
“If I make my kids something delicious and we sit down to eat it, and I put my phone away and I really listen, that is such money in the bank,” she said.
