Gucci Mane, the rapper, didn’t die in prison due to “excessive sizzurp use,” as is claimed by a fake news report. The story is not real.
An article posted to Cream BMP Daily, a “satire” and entertainment website, led many to think that Gucci Mane, born Radric Davis, had died.
“‘Between his beefs, drugs, and being black it was only a matter of time’ Said the white inmate that found him dead early this morning. The ‘Wasted’ rapper Gucci Mane was found dead in his Fulton County jail cell in Atlanta around eleven this morning by his cell mate (sic),” the fake article reads. “‘It’s definitely due to his syrup addiction and I ain’t talking about Aunt Jemima’ Said a prison doctor who admits he earned his degree while serving time, but knows a dope fein when he sees one. “‘Why else would you get an ice cream tattooed on your face? Drugs.’”
Cream BMP has a disclaimer, saying it doesn’t publish real news.
“CreamBmp.com Written by comedian CREAM. This website is comprised of satire and parody of current news and urban culture. For entertainment purposes only,” it reads.
Another disclaimer also reads: “All reports and other information on this page may or may not be 100% accurate. It’s not news, it’s entertainment. All other comments are my personal opinion, but try not to take the [expletive] seriously and come at me with that [expletive], because I will and do sue.”
The fake Gucci Mane article was being tweeted and shared heavily on Facebook and Twitter over the weekend.
