Gucci Mane hasn’t died in a prison cell of a heart attack due to excessive “sizzurp use,” but a fake report is saying that he did. This week, a number of people were apparently tricked by the hoax, tweeting “RIP Gucci Mane.”
However, the Atlanta, Georgia-based rapper posted an update, saying he’ll release a project called “World War 3D,” which features releases from Young Thug, Migos, and PeeWee Longway. He made the announcement from jail.
“June 17th, 1017 empire is declaring war. I’m dropping a “World War 3D” series — three albums in one day,” he said.
“I make music, I make money, I make enemies,” he said in a recording released this week, adding that he’s “still running the streets from jail” despite him being “locked up.”
The fake report was published on Cream BMP Daily, a self-described “satire” website.
“‘Between his beefs, drugs, and being black it was only a matter of time’ Said the white inmate that found him dead early this morning. The ‘Wasted’ rapper Gucci Mane was found dead in his Fulton County jail cell in Atlanta around eleven this morning by his cell mate,” the article says. ‘It’s definitely due to his syrup addiction and I ain’t talking about Aunt Jemima’ Said a prison doctor who admits he earned his degree while serving time, but knows a dope fein when he sees one.'”
