Actress Milla Jovovich has married director Paul Anderson. The ceremony took place on Saturday in Beverly Hills at the couple’s home. The actress can currently be seen in the film A Perfect Getaway and is gearing up to shoot Resident Evil 4 which will be directed by her husband.
Lindsay Lohan’s Home Burglarized
Actress Lindsay Lohan became the victim of a burglary on Sunday as intruders broke into her Hollywood Hills home, damaged her property, and removed a number of items. Lohan’s representative, Sloane Zelnik, told the Associated Press, ‘'personal belongings were taken without remorse.” The actress’s mother, Dina Lohan, told People, “The safe was ripped out of the wall, and the door was off the hinges and door handles removed.” The actress was not home at the time of the robbery. A police investigation is underway.
Miss Universe Crowned
The international Miss Universe beauty pageant took place on Sunday in the Bahamas and aired live. The winner? Miss Venezuela Stefania Fernandez took top honors, bringing the crown home her South American homeland for the 6th time since the pageant’s inception, and for the second consecutive year. According to the Miss Universe website, titleholders receive cash and prizes from the pageant’s sponsors and spend their reign working for HIV/AIDS-related charities.
Senator Joe Lieberman Responds to Alec Baldwin
Actor Alec Baldwin publicly criticized Independent Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut in a recent magazine interview, suggesting that he’d move to the New England state just to run against him. He later explained on his blog, “No I am not moving to Connecticut to run against Joe Lieberman. As much as I think Lieberman is an enormous letdown to the party that gave him their nomination for Vice President, I am sure that Democratic Party leaders in that state will take care of themselves.” On Sunday Lieberman responded to the actor’s challenge on CNN’s “State of the Union” by laughing and saying, “Make my day.” He went on to say, “I respect Alec Baldwin as an actor and as a comedian, and if he wants to run, that’s his right.”
Sherri Shepherd’s New Show to Premiere in October
Actress and co-host of ABC’s “The View,” Sherri Shepherd, shared the premiere date for her upcoming show via Twitter on Monday. The comedy, “Sherri,” will premiere on cable network Lifetime on October 5. The show is said to be based loosely on the actress’s life.
