‘Alice In Wonderland’ Breaks Box Office Records
Break out those 3-D glasses again! This past weekend, an updated Alice in Wonderland has been widely released in 3-D, IMAX 3-D, and a regular theater version. In this story, Alice is 19-years-old and returns to Underland, the place she literally “fell” into 13 years earlier.
Directed by Tim Burton, the film stars Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway, Michael Sheen, and newcomer Mia Wasikowska as Alice.
In its opening weekend, the box office is showing that it is a great success and reportedly “earned an estimated $116.3 million, the highest grossing weekend ever for a spring release,” according to a report by Entertainment Weekly.
Musician Justin Bieber on QVC
Fifteen-year-old YouTube pop star (turned professional recording artist) Justin Bieber will be appearing on the cable shopping channel QVC March 9 and 12 to promote his latest album titled My World 2.0.
The album, which officially hits stores on March 23, will be pre-released on QVC along with a bonus DVD. The talented teen plays four instruments (drums, guitar, piano, and trumpet), and is being mentored by R&B-hit-maker Usher. Tune in for live performances by Bieber.
Baby Girl for Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart
“Grey’s Anatomy” actor Eric Dane, 37, and his wife Rebecca Gayheart, 38, happily announced the birth of their baby girl last Wednesday in Los Angeles.
The couple’s publicist confirmed the news to the Associated Press in an e-mail saying, “mother, father, and daughter are doing great.” This is the first child for the couple, who were married in 2004.
Brooke Burke New Co-Host on ‘Dancing With The Stars’
With the start of the new season just weeks away, veteran co-host Tom Bergeron announced on “Good Morning America,” on Monday, that Brooke Burke has signed on to be his new co-host, replacing Samantha Harris.
Burke herself won the celebrity dancing competition in season seven. Tune into “Dancing With The Stars” on ABC, March 22.
