A new version of Google Maps is rolling out, with a redesigned look and new or improved features.
The updated version, which was first introduced last May, came out of “preview” mode last week, and Google has been adding features and tweaking it every day.
Upgraded features include the ability to book hotels, improved public transit data and directions, and traffic updates through Waze.
The man figure used for Street View was briefly taken off the new version but was then added back.
Another notable feature, search nearby, appears to have been removed, but people can still search nearby by just typing in what they’re looking for, such as the word coffee.
Another new feature lays out different travel options, such as driving or biking.
Added images from notable landmarks and other areas, with a new “carousel” view, is another feature.
Brian McClendon, vice president of Google Maps, said in a blog post that like with any product redesign there may be bumps along the road, and asked for feedback from users.
