It may not be as monumental as achieving world peace but accomplishing personal goals can be (almost as) satisfying. And now it is even easier with Google Calendar’s latest feature.
On April 12, Google announced its Goals tool, designed to help its users achieve their goals. “Calendars should help you make the most of your time—not just be tools to track events,” said the statement.
All you need to do is enter a goal—the promotional video focuses on practicing yoga—and your Google Calendar will help you find the time in your schedule to do it.
By selecting how many times a week, during what time of day, and for what duration you would like to, let’s say, learn Italian, Google will automatically find space in your weekly schedule to do these goals.
If “life gets in the way,” you can defer the goal, and Google will find another time for you to work on it. Ideal for the procrastinators of the world.
It will also automatically move the goal around if you schedule another appointment in its time slot. No more manually juggling and switching to-dos with the new feature, Google will do that for you.
The announcement also noted that April 12 marked Google Calendar’s 10th birthday, officially organizing our lives for a decade now. The tech giant hints at more updates “to help you find time for everything that matters” for its calendar app.
According to Mashable, the Goals feature will launch globally for Google Calendar users at midnight EST on Wednesday, April 13.
