Global Q&A: ‘What good has your government achieved this year to date?’

Melbourne, Australia: David Brough, 42, Unemployed Builder: It’s a little bit hard, because when we look at the international stage, the Australian government, some of their activity hasn’t been very palatable, such as the refugee issue. Whilst there’s competing issues in relation to keeping our borders safe and preventing drownings at sea; we also need to ensure we do our bit as a country in relation to ensuing genuine refugees are supported, looked after, and resettled appropriately. The good thing is that we are active on the world stage in relation to national disasters, and we do jump in and give a hand when we can, and I think that’s fantastic. But certainly the hot topic being the refugee issue, I think we could do a bit better.

Apart from a new education plan and pensions being kept constant in some countries, most feel that very little has been achieved to date by their governments. This is what Epoch Times reporters from areas such as Brazil to Australia discovered when they asked locals, “What good has your government achieved this year to date?”
