Ginger Zee, the “Good Morning America” host and “Dancing with the Stars” finalist, said her injury is so bad that she wasn’t even able to hold her baby.

Zee, 35, suffered a “really serious” injury that put her finale performance in jeopardy up until the last minute. However, she ended up performing in both her dances with partner Val Chmerkovskiy before breaking down into tears at the end of the second one. She was awarded full marks for the effort.

Zee told Us Magazine on Tuesday she is still feeling pain from the back and pelvis injuries she had suffered.

“On Thursday there was definitely a point where the physical therapist said, ‘Stop. You can’t dance like this anymore.’ And so I didn’t know how that was going to play out, I didn’t know what was going to happen,” she was quoted by the publication as saying.

“The next day, I felt a little better but she said, ‘Don’t do any of this stuff.’ So I hadn’t done any of my dances full out and all the way through until today. So that was so scary!” she added.

“The worst day was Thursday. It was just tough because confidence for me comes from repetition and we weren’t able to do that. I haven’t done my whole routine through until today, that was a little nerve-wracking,” she told E! News.

Zee said her husband, Ben Aaron, has been supportive of her. He was also left holding her baby.

“He’s been the best. He’s been taking care of [the baby] so well because I haven’t even been able to hold him,” Zee said. “The physical therapist said not to hold him on each side but my husband has made sure the baby’s doing great and that makes me feel great,” she added.

The “Dancing with the Stars” season 22 finale airs Tuesday, May 24, at 9 p.m.
