Gia Allemand, a former “Bachelor” contestant, died on Wednesday in a hospital, and a report claims that she attempted to commit suicide. She was 29.

Her boyfriend, Ryan Anderson, found her in her house Monday night, TMZ reported. TMZ did not quote a source on whether she killed herself or how she did it.

A source told the website that she “critical loss of brain and organ function.”

Her family released a statement to Hollywoodlife.com, confirming she was found by her boyfriend “following an apparent suicide attempt.”

“Ms. Allemand remained in the hospital unconscious in critical condition and on life support. Due to a critical loss of brain and organ function, life support was withdrawn today. Ms. Allemand passed away peacefully,” it reads.

Her mother, boyfriend, and friends were in the hospital when she died.

“Gia was a beautiful girl and an unbelievable friend. I’m shocked and can’t believe what happened to her. She seemed so happy, but you never know the demons people are fighting inside. I will never forget her and will miss my friend forever,” Vienna Girardi, the “Bachelor” season 14 winner, told the website.

Other sources speculated that she killed herself, while a number of rumors have swirled around the reality TV star since she was hospitalized in New Orleans this week.

When she was hospitalized, her publicist said she suffered “a serious emergency medical event.”

On Twitter, condolences were expressed.

“My prayers go out to @GiaAllemand ‘s family during this time. Life on earth is but a vapor and she’s with our Lord now,” wrote Sean Lowe.

“I had to pull over, I can’t stop crying. We have lost an angel,” Jake Pavelka wrote.
