A 79 year old driver charged full speed into a street parade in Menden on Sunday, leaving three people dead, four seriously injured.

HAMBURG, Germany—A 79 year old driver charged  full speed into a street parade in Menden on Sunday, leaving three people dead, four seriously injured, and more than 30 in a state of shock.

The victims were all members of the Sankt-Hubertus-Shooting-Association, who held a parade in Menden that day to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

The man drove into the back part of the parade, his black mercedes only came to a stillstand after it crashed into an empty police-car.

The reason for the incident is not yet known. The driver was not injured and is being questioned by police.
