George R. R. Martin Thinks Peter Dinklage Was Robbed of His Emmy

Renowned author of fantasy novel series “A Song of Ice and Fire,” best known as the TV series adaptation “Game of Thrones,” George R. R. Martin wrote a brief but candid entry in his personal blog last night.

The entry, titled “Skunked Again,” was his personal ode to the displeasure he felt that Peter Dinklage lost his Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series” again during the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday, August 24, 2014. 

He started off with a simple: “0 and 5 last night.” referring to the “Game of Thrones” nominations and Emmy wins over the years. 

“What can you say? ‘Breaking Bad’ was a juggernaut. A great show with a great final season,” Martin wrote. Adding in parentheses: “But Peter Dinklage was robbed.”

For his writing, he said he’s even on a lower score.

“I am now 0 and 6 in the Emmy derby,” Martin wrote. Martin also expressed his concern about the lack of representation for certain TV series genres at the awards ceremony. 

“66 years and no science fiction or fantasy series has ever been honored.  Many have been nominated, yes. None have ever won.

 

“Game of Thrones” has received 4 consecutive nominations for “Outstanding Drama Series” thus far with no wins. 

“Just sayin',” Martin signed off. 

 

As per usual, he added the status of his mood which was “pessimistic” as of last night.
