San Antonio continues the three-point barrage. The Spurs are now 7-10 from three-point land. Danny Green still has the hot hand, hitting all four threes attempted in the half. Meanwhile, Miami has four threes for the half.
Though the Heat took the early second quarter lead, the Spurs went on an early 10–0 run, to turn a 24–29 deficit into a 34–29 edge. The rest of the half was back-and-forth with five lead changes and a pair of ties.
Chris ‘Birdman’ Anderson continues to hit shots around the basket. He’s 3-3 in the game at the half. He’s hit an incredible 80.4 percent of his shots in the playoffs thus far. Dwayne Wade has been aggressive, hitting five of 10 shots for 10 points, along with four assists. LeBron James has just four points so far.
San Antonio, which had just four turnovers in all of Game 1, has seven at the half.
Tony Parker’s (10 points) adjustment to the double-team is a bit delayed with solid drives and solid shots developing into desperation attempts. Meanwhile Tim Duncan’s been a bit flat on his feet and off-target with his open shots from the key with virtually no post-ups, shooting 2-7 from the field.
But look to “Big Popovich” to make adjustments into the second half. As Denzel Washington said in Training Day, this is “chess, it ain’t checkers!”
