A protester wielding a lit flare ran through the French Open men’s final on Sunday, disrupting the games.

Rafael Nadal was trying to prepare a serve during the second set against David Ferrer when a masked man jumped from the crowd into the court, reported the Daily Mail.

Staff quickly tackled the masked protester and was taken to the ground. Before the man jumped into the stands, around four people started to chant, but it was unclear what they were saying.

Before the protester was tackled, he ran into the court near where Nadal was served. According to the Mail, Nadal appeared shaken up and dropped the ball.

The Mirror tabloid reported that the protesters earlier held a banner reading “France tramples on children’s rights!”

Nadal, who won the French Open for an eighth time, shook the hand of a security staff member after he was victorious.

“This one is very special one,” said Nadal after he won, according to USA Today.

He added: “When you have period of time like I had, you realize that you don’t know if you will have the chance to be back here with this trophy another time.”
