Ford introduced its 2013 Taurus this week, saying that the new iteration of its chief sedan model has “better fuel economy, more technology, design refinement, improved craftsmanship and enhanced driving dynamics.”
The next version of the Ford Taurus also features comfort upgrades, including a new heated steering wheel and multi-contoured seats with a “rolling massage pattern.”
“We have significantly upgraded Ford’s flagship sedan through obsessive attention to detail,” Ford’s Americas chief Mark Fields said in a statement.
The more fuel-efficient 2013 Ford Taurus model will boast a 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine that provides 237 horsepower and can deliver 31 mpg on the highway highway.
The V6 version of the Taurus features a 3.5-liter V6 that can generate 290 horsepower.
Other features of the 2013 Ford Taurus:
-Adaptive cruise control, which tracks up to 600 feet ahead of the car
-Blind Spot Information System, which warns the driver if there’s a car in the blind spot.
-MyKey controls, which allows for restricted driving modes
-A rear window power sunshade
-Electronic power-assisted steering
-SYNC with MyFord Touch, replacing traditional knobs and buttons with LCD screens
